Product Overview
This PTFE stainless steel shaft seal is intended for GXS450 dry screw vacuum pump maintenance. A modified PTFE lip and stainless steel case form an independent seal that controls bearing-lubricant migration toward the vacuum chamber and reduces dust ingress into the bearing area.
Selection must not rely on the equipment name alone. Confirm the existing seal design, lip direction, shaft condition, housing dimensions and equipment maintenance history.
Installation Position
The shaft seal is installed between the bearing lubrication area and the vacuum chamber. One side controls lubricant migration and the other limits dust ingress into the bearing area. Record the existing part orientation, lip direction and shaft rotation before removal. Keep the metal case square during installation and protect the PTFE lip from burrs and sharp edges.
If the shaft has circumferential grooves, corrosion, scratches or excessive runout, evaluate shaft repair, contact-position adjustment or a wear sleeve before installing the new seal.
Material Features
Modified PTFE Sealing Lip
Used for dynamic sealing at the vacuum pump shaft end. The compound must be confirmed against shaft condition, speed, temperature, lubrication and process gas rather than selected by a generic material name alone.
Stainless Steel Case
Provides structural support and press-fit positioning for the PTFE lip. Housing dimensions, installation tooling and face flatness directly affect case alignment and lip operation.
Performance Data
Equipment Vacuum Condition
The associated equipment operates at approximately 0.5 Pa. This value describes the complete equipment condition and does not mean one shaft seal independently guarantees final vacuum performance.
Shaft Condition
The shaft contact area should be smooth and free of visible grooves, corrosion and impact damage. Confirm runout, eccentricity and surface condition before assembly.
Sealing Function
Controls cross-migration between bearing lubricant and vacuum-chamber dust and works together with the equipment’s other dynamic and static seals.

Compatibility Statement
This product is manufactured by Ningbo Chenming Seals Manufacturing Co., Ltd. for equipment repair and maintenance. Equipment brands and model names belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify possible fitment; they do not imply OEM authorization, cooperation or affiliation.
Do not purchase this size for other pump models without confirmation. Production year, maintenance history and assembly revision may result in different seal designs.
Technical Documents
A model-specific drawing and replacement data sheet can be issued after the existing-part dimensions, lip direction, installation position and shaft condition have been confirmed.
FAQ
Is this an original GXS450 shaft seal?
No. This Ceimin-manufactured product is a compatible replacement part for equipment maintenance, not an original OEM part. Brand and model names are used only to identify the intended equipment.
Can the seal be installed based on matching dimensions alone?
Dimensions are only the starting point. Confirm the existing design, PTFE lip direction, housing, shaft condition and maintenance history. Provide existing-part photos and measured data before ordering.
Will replacing the shaft seal restore 0.5 Pa?
0.5 Pa is an equipment operating condition, not a guarantee provided by one shaft seal. Final vacuum also depends on the chamber, piping, static seals, shaft condition and assembly quality.
What should be done if the shaft has a wear groove?
Do not install a new shaft seal directly on the existing wear groove. Repair the shaft, adjust the contact position or use a wear sleeve according to groove depth and available space.
